my HECTIC yet somewhat successful week.

So this week... not the best I would say. Nothing super exciting happened this week but i had Tuesday off of school which was QUITE pleasant. Too bad my satanic English teacher decided to ruin that sheer bit of happiness and give me a huge essay! story of my life. So on my "day off" i woke up at seven thirty (may not seem early but it is to me!). SEVEN THIRTY... on a day off? i think that is a definite NO! I woke up to my lovely mother telling me she left her iPhone (ugh i wish i still had mine) at home.. and that she NEEDED it. So i decided to get up and get ready so that i could come bring it to the office. In that matter of one hour ... she received five calls. Two of which were my brothers. So i answer.. thinking all is well and ill just tell them to call the office. Hang up. They call the office. Both of them. AND TATTLE ON ME! "Mom, i think you should know that Robyn is ditching school." COME ON BOYS!!!! i was not ditching :).  but i forgive you... maybe just because i miss you too (too bad when they get home i will be sick of em) ha.  But i wrote my long painful essay... and it was somewhat fun! i had a good time. The purpose was to take a problem in society (beauty pageants) and create a completely absurd solution! so here ya go..... ENJOY!

A More Modest Proposal

            It is a peculiar sight to see a young woman, no older than the age of four wailing as her mother applies layers of makeup to her virgin and untouched skin. She holds tight to the stage railing as her mother slowly, yet surely gets her on stage in their outfits of glitz and glamour. The girl’s mother explains that she MUST perform perfectly like they rehearsed and smile as big as she can, because they didn’t waste money on her bleaching trays for nothing! As she is performing she looks down at audience, which is filled with girls wearing no makeup, no sparkles, and nothing spectacular in any way. The girl knows that she is more attractive than the natural girls, and that they would never win the title of Grand Supreme. The young child always seems to perform an elaborate show, but of course there is always room for improvement when it comes to show business.

            I am sure it is agreed by all society, that life in and of itself is a competitive beauty pageant. Society’s views are harsh and critical of a child’s beauty and talent, and sadly only the most spectacular smile is crowned the winner. It is my proposal that since we live in a judgmental and opinionated era, that girls learn early on how to satisfy the opinions of others by being beautiful. It should be mandatory that little girls begin learning how to apply makeup in kindergarten; this will help the girls advance in the subject so that no matter what comes their way, they will always look flawless and mature. It will also convey to these girls the reality that a young girl cannot have one blemish or else she will not live up to the world’s expectations. This should continue on in first grade by teaching the girls how to fit clothing to their body, explaining that clothing is not supposed to be “comfortable” like one would assume, but that it should be tight and revealing to show of the curves and sexual appeal that her body holds. We can continue on throughout their schooling to teach them how to diet and eat correctly in order to become lean. Every girl must take this course, because there is no way that a size bigger than a 00 will be victorious in this snobbish world. Slender children are a must; the girls must be skinny at all costs, even if there are a small amount of girls with the so-called “disorders.  In reality, these disorders are an essential for a selected group of girls, who just cannot stick with the dieting habits and are a bit heftier than others.   Another essential class would be about plastic surgery; these girls will be examined and shown their flaws so that they could consider adjustments to their bodies at an earlier age. Also those girls who are considered late bloomers in the breast area can insure that they get surgery done by the fifth grade so that they can flaunt their body like other girls do, thus catching the eye of their judges. The educational classes should continue all the way through their high school years, because beauty is everything and these classes will constantly remind the girls of this reality.

            There are likewise many great advantages from this scheme, which will surely convince all to support the ideal approach. This brilliant and productive plan will prevent that sinful issue of obesity. America has had immense problems with the weight of the nation, and this study would stop the problem from progressing any more than it already has. Children would receive instruction in order to prevent becoming fat. The obesity in America has raised a lot of health issues, causing many overweight citizens to develop hypertension, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes. According to endocrinologist, David Goodrich, “the amount of type 2 diabetes would decrease by 50%”. Also, these girls would realize the overall theme in this country is that being gorgeous will get you everywhere and everything. It will show them that as long as they are pretty they can achieve whatever they wish! It is what is on the outside that truly determines who you are. Of course it is not only beneficial for the girl, but also their mothers. This will permit their not-so-pretty mothers to live as they always wished they could have, through their child. It will allow the mothers to vicariously fulfill all their wildest dreams! Johnson Hamilton, a professor of ethics at the College of International Studies, says that the rate of sexual harassment and rape would greatly decrease. He continued to explain that, “since all the girls are just as sexy as the others, no one girl would be a direct target of sexual harassment; thus decreasing the overall rate of rape in America by around 40 percent”.  This method could also decrease the financial expenses of staying beautiful, since so much of the essentials would be taught in school, the family would not have to pay for their young girl to take classes or hire a personal stylists. The family would also gain money from the prized daughter when she won in pageants and competed all throughout the world. A winner of a pageant can earn up $10,000 and have wonderful scholarship opportunities. All this money would help support families’ expenses whether it is for school, savings, or maybe even to buy another pageant gown! Financially these luxurious girls could provide for their family in so many financial settings! Another benefit would be for businesses in America, there would be an increase in profit of beauty departments and clothing manufacturers since the majority of women would be focused on their looks, relying on those businesses for products.  America would become very popular and honored by other countries, and would be known for our glamorous women. We would have more likely of a chance to win Miss Universe since the United States would be equipped with so many worthy contestants, thus increasing our status in other countries.

            The benefits of this scheme are so abundant that it is most absurd to ignore the plan. All of society would be happier and more confident in their doings, and many of our countries difficulties would be solved. I can assure you that this plan was not created for selfish reasons, being a father of two sons I would receive no true reward other than the satisfaction of seeing the beauty and poise of so many girls fulfilling their dreams.
